eHarmony is planning to enter in Chinese dating market, with the intent to pick a certain percentage of China’s market, although there already have competitors with own base of users and they don’t start from scratch.
They believe that will be able to successfully adapt to this market through their dating technology.
Chinese market for eHarmony is more lucrative than homosexuals.
Chemistry, MyPartner, Adam4Adam and other sites providing services for gays, can breathe calmly.
This intentions has a serious basis.
Over the past year, the number of registered users increased by 25%.
Large percentage of this users pays a monthly $ 59 or $ 250 a year for services.
This dating site launched in 2000 and in 2008 their user base is increased to 20 million.
In addition to advertising the company invests in scientific research.
The team of scientists is working on a study of couples over five years.
The project aims to study the compatibility of partners.
On average site users have 118 marriages every day.
The company has 232 employees.
